2 UPS Systems MASTERGUARD protects No matter how dirty your electrical power system might be, MASTERGUARD protects it. This Uninterruptible Power Supply provides on-line double conversion technology to ensure highest power security and reliability. So MASTER- GUARD equalizes all irregularities in the electrical power system. It makes brief power disruptions harmless, and at the same time has enough reserves to bridge prolonged mains failures (Fig. Applications: ● DP equipment and systems ● Computer centers ● Process control units ● Control rooms/Scada systems ● Communications equipment ● ISDN systems ● Drives in continuous production processes ● Production and automation systems ● Life-support systems in hospitals ● Air-traffic control systems ● Safety systems in power stations ● Broadcasting studios, SAT systems ● Transport systems ● Personal computers ● Workstations ● Servers and networks ● and many others ● Real on-line UPS with the double-conversion principle Fig. 1 Types of mains disturbances Voltage fluctuations Distorted voltage curve Frequency fluctuations Superimposed interference voltage Short interruptions Power failures Masterguard UPS 2001 System overview of Serie S Fig.
2 MASTERGUARD S52100 Introduction A technically perfected system of UPS units and batteries with outstanding benefits for the customer is now available to ensure the uninterrupted supply of power to electrical equipment with a singlephase or three-phase mains connection in the power range 10 to 2400 kVA. Individual units have an output of up to 300 kVA 1 ) but several units can be connected in parallel to provide a total output of up to 2400 kVA 2 ) and/or to increase redundancy. The units provide the load with an electrical power supply in accordance with the real on-line principle. This is done with no interruptions of any kind and ensures a constantly high-quality of supply.
The use of batteries with a back-up time of 60 minutes or more ensures a system which safely bridges power failures. System components ● UPS units, frequency converters ● Parallel connecting kit ● Battery systems ● Battery measuring devices ● Profibus-DP interface ● Computer interfaces ● Contact interfaces ● Air filters ● EMC and mains filter ● UPS management and service software ● Separate service switch, up to 3000 amps. ● Empty cubicles ● Remote control boards ● Telemonitoring via network / Internet (IP) ● Connecting accessories 1 ) up to 60 kVA with 208 V Masterguard UPS 2001 Fig. 3 MASTERGUARD S52300 Special features ● Real on-line principle of functioning, i.e.
